Kikos
we got two more new goats, they are kiko. Kiko are another type of meat goat, they are a lot more parasite resistant then boer goats.
Their names are Jaalah, which means "wild goat" and let me tell you, it is the perfect name for her. Jaalah is all white, and Jazmin which is almost as wild, but is more timid or afraid so she runs from us, and she is mostly light brown with some white.
they are not use to being in a pen, their barn was all open.
they are getting comfortable after
being there all day.
Today was their first day out in our field,
they were just checking everything out

Farm Visitors
We have been having a lot of farm visitors recently. Some are just showing up and others drive by and see the goat out in the field and decide to stop. We welcome visitors so we always tell them to come on up the driveway and see the goats! Most of the time they have children with them so we let them feed the goats!!! win win situation........ kids enjoy it and so do the goats....

Well summer is flying by, August is just about over and the nights are getting cooler and even some of the leaves are starting to change color.
The kid goats have all settled in and are now use to their new home. They are growing nicely and are able to go into the field with the two larger goats that we gotten before them.
We are still looking for some more kid goats, preferably kiko or kiko/boer cross.
The Guinea Fowl is also getting big and as of now are still in the coop, in about three weeks we will open the door to the coop and let them free range. We will put the goats in the field where the coop is for a couple days before we open that door so they get use to them. Hoping to avoid the goats chasing the guinea fowl.

just about done....bring on the goats!!!!
Inside of the barn is all finished except for some electrical stuff-waiting on lights that were back ordered, and the plumbing to be connected in the vet room.
Outside, painting is almost done, just needs to finish the front. Then the trim could be put on and the hardware for the doors. The barn sign was hung!
We do have two goats now, Jellybean & Sweetheart.....they are adjusting really good..I think :)
This Sunday we will be going to look at more goats, can't wait!!!!
We also got guinea keets, 15 of them, they are now two weeks old and are growing fast.
